my printer cord will not stay connected to my computer. it reads as if the printer is not connected to the computer. but the cable is actually connected to the computer...whys it doin this??

That all depends on what connection your using. Some of the newer printer use USB connector and the printer cables.
Maybe you should change your printer configuration and delete the old setup.
Check to see if the cable pins are aligned properly and put in the proper alignment. If your printer has usb connector use it on your computer instead if you have a extra usb port available.
Also check your printer diagnostics to see if your printer is connected to your computer. If there is two communication between both the computer and the printer than it should be connected properly.

that just happened to me yesterday. i don't know why. try unplugging and plugging the usb cable. If that doesn't work restart your computer. And if that doesn't work disconnect the power cable and then plug it in again. And if that doesn't work I don't know what you should do. Good luck!

try connecting to other ports of ur com
or try on another com to test whether the cable is working well

Check the connections. make sure that the cord is not frayed or crimped. check the ports. make sure that they are secured into both.

Maybe you have a bad cord.

Maybe you just need to restart the computer
