As with many things in life, the toughest part is thinking about doing it. Get on line or call the college of your choice and speak to an admissions counselor. They can usually ease your initial fears. I graduated last year from college, and many of my classes had men and women that could have been my parents. One guy could have been my grandfather.
I will be honest though. An older, more mature student can really enlighten a class discussion, and usually doesn't have problems with the course work. But if you are somebody who likes to offer personal anecdotes every few minutes during a lecture, don't be surprised to hear audible groans from the students. It is fine, and even encouraged to raise your hand and participate in class discussions. Especially if you have questions. Just be aware that the professor's and your classmate's time is limited, and they can't indulge every little comment you have to make. Be sure that what you say or ask is truly relevant to the discussion. And don't be afraid to get chummy with students younger than you. Age isn't a barrier for friendships. Good luck, and take it one day at a time. I'm sure you'll do fine!

Go for it.
I graduated highschool in 91.
I went to college for a semester in 98 and made dean's list.
I went back in 2000 and got a degree in 2003.
You can do it. Also, I highly recommend Total Quality Management class.

Just do it! Think of it this way, it'll be much easier now than if you wait even longer. You can do it. I am in lots of classes at my college with older adults. My bf is a senior this year and he's 28! Just go to your local college, and ask to speak with an academic advisor. Explain to the advisor what your situation is. They should be able to tell you everything you need to know or who else to talk to. Good luck and congrats on doing something good for yourself.
