Oil is best.Hand and body lotions tend to be alcohol or water based and dry out too quickly and are absorbed much more readily into the skin than oil is. There are special massage lotions out there that are oil based though. One in particular is called Biotone. They key is to use something oil based, not water or alcohol based. Also, wash your hands before and after giving a massage no matter what you use.
