First get a common demoninator.

A common multiple for 2 and 3 is 6.
Multiple each fraction by 1.
In this case, 2/2 and 3/3, so...

2/3 * 2/2 + 1/2 * 3/3

This is:

4 / 6 + 3 / 6

Now they have the same demoninators so you can add them.

7 / 6

which is 1 and 1/6
