I have just started Yaz BC and I haven't noticed any major side effects besides an upset stomach and some mood swings. I have tried other birth control pills but I haven't been able to stay on them for an extended period of time due to side effects of depression. There is alot to choose from nowadays, I am 30, that are low-dose which are less likely to cause side effects.

I have looked at the materials provided by Yasmin and they are pretty full of them selves!

FDA lists these common side effect:
The most commons side effects are:

* Headache
* Menstrual changes
* Breast tenderness
* Abdominal cramps and bloating
* Nausea
* Vaginal discharge

Depression isn't on the list but it can still happen to some women. The best thing to do is stay in close contact with your healthcare profession for at least the first 6 months. You should be able to decide by then if Yasmin is going to be ok for you. After that be sure to see your doctor a couple of times a year and get a PAP smear every year.
