for instance #1 - leave the 16 there cause you cant do anything with it, distribute 4(x+5) by multiplying giving you 4*x=4x, 4*5=20. now add the 20 and the 16 because they are alike terms and you end up with 36. no more alike terms so the final answer is 4x+36 and tada! now do the rest. dont forget to look out for youre negetive and positve signs. if you need any more help post back.

=3d + 15 - 9 + 3d
= 6d + 6

I'll help you with the first one to show you how to do it.
First, the distributive property is multiplying the number outside of the parentheses with the "stuff" inside of them. You have to take the number outside of them (4), and multiply it with EVERYTHING inside of them ((x+5)), in order to get rid of the parentheses. So...
4(x+5) is 4 X x + 4 X 5
4x + 20
now you have to add 16, so it's.... 4x + 36
