The 49ers are the best NFL team in the San Francisco Bay Area but that's about it (not saying much as only the Raiders are in the Bay Area with them). However, the 49ers are probably the top young, up and coming team in the NFL. Mike Nolan and his staff are building a good looking team that could be a force in the next few years. Now if they could only get rid of the owner, John York, and build a new stadium...

They might be the best team in High School football.
This must be a rhetorical question, not expecting a logical answer.
If you are a fan I think it is great to support your team and believe in them. Heck maybe they can even overachieve this year and make the playoffs. You never know. They are certainly playing better than most people thought so far.
But to even contemplate that they are the best team in the NFL really is a symptom of a psychotic break and I would suggest consulting a doctor immediately.

Back in the 80's yes, but when York took over they became one of the worst!!!! But I still love my 49ers! Fan for over 30 years.

been a fan since 1981. If u r a true fan u will love your team in
the bad times as well as the winning ones.

I really like Alex Smith and think that they can become a much better team than last year, but they definatly have some work to do.
And i am a Seahawks fan, and have been since birth. So i dont like them that much

You have to be kidding me....They are much improved from last year, that much is for sure, but to say they are the best team is absurd. They are mostly in a rebuilding process. give them a half a decade at least before they are competing with vigor in the playoffs and probably longer than that before they are Superbowl contenders.

arguement for best dynasty in the 80s, but if you are talking about now, they are in the top 10 in terms of worse teams.
