Why did the Federalists win against the fight with the Anti-federalists to ratify the Constitution (the Articles of Confederation)?

The Federalists were supporting a stronger central government; the anti Federalists a more limited one. The problems with the very weak central govt of the Articles of Confederation was that common issues could not be effectively addressed - it was too easy for one state govt to block an issue moving forward to resolution, which was in fact what happened most of the time, & very little got resolved or settled.

So the spirit of the age was movement toward the stronger central government. The Federalists "won" through incorporating the legitemate concerns of their "adversaries", a lesson in bipartisanship that has benefitted 2 centuries of Americans.

Would that our current Congress recall the words "comprimise " & "bipartisanship" - two concepts that ring starkly absent from the pettiness of today's legislative squabbling.

1. The Articles of Confederation and the US Constitution were two seperate political documents

2. The Federalists didn't so much win as make a compromise. They heavily outnumbered Anti-Federalists at the Constitutional Convention (Why would people opposed to the union meet to make it?) but still posed a major roadblock to its ratification. In order to secure the consent of the Anti-Federalists, the Federalists promised the inclusion of the Bill of Rights (which synced up well with Anti-Federalist beliefs)

C. Anti-federalists does no longer merchandise that wealthy elites were disfavored. human beings were particularly presented on to throw off aristocracy interior the present republic, so as that they'd little sympathy for "wealthy elites." And as well, the kind does no longer desire small farmers, or the distinct economic team.
