put it in your mouth, bite down on the little rubber T things sticking out of the mouth piece, make sure your mouth is fully covering the mouth piece and there is no way for water to get in, go under water keeping the top of the snorkle above water and breath. It took me a while to figure it out how to do it well with taking in water but you should be able to do it. If water does get into the snorkle just blow hard into it and it should blow the water out of the top of the snorkle and you should be fine. Good luck

make sure the two things sticking out are at the side of your mouth and when water gets in practice blowing it out. it takes a lot of breath to blow water out but water gets in accidentaly all the time and youll just have to learn how to do it.

its because you didnt clear your snorkel of water or water is getting in, you must blow out hard because water does come in the top and if you have the side vent they come in there too, take long deep breaths, and wait a moment between inhaling and exhaling so that your carbon monoxide clears the top of your tube
