if the schools should close for Sept11 then they should close for all the horrible things that have happen lately like the day of the Suriname when all really bad things happen like mother nature kills so many . i don,t think so it,s something that is for the history books and for kids to miss school than what would be the point some were so small that they don,t even no about it why continue the suffering life must continue.

Why?
If you stop functioning on Sept 11, then you have let the terrorists win. Do businesses close for Dec 7 which is when Pearl Harbor was bombed which prompted the US's involvement in WW2? No they don't. So there's no reason to do so for Sept 11 either.
When I went to school, I had countless days off as it was with things like in-service days for the teachers, etc without adding anything else to the mix.

No. The schools should remain open. A ceremony/assembly could be held to honor/remember those who died during the attacks.
It's not a holiday. There shouldn't be "Sept. 11th Sales" in stores.
Stay in school and learn about the events that lead up to the attacks.

I don't think they should shut down. We should all remember 9/11, but there's no reason for schools to close down.

No, I also don't think it should be a national holiday. 9/11 isn't something to celebrate. It is a day to pray for all those souls that were lost on that fateful day.

yes , i believe it should be a national holiday, even though i think the kids are off enough, i ask my son now, when do you have school,not when is your next school vacation
