I am 36 1/2 weeks prego and my husband has an inner ear infection and he is on cephalexin, prednizone and pennicillin will these be secreted to me thru his semen?

There is always a small amount of medications that will be in the semen but enough to harm your baby. Not likely!! If you were ingesting it yourself then there would be cause for concern and even if you were breastfeeding because it can be secreted through the mothers milk..If you are ever concerned about any medications you can call any Pharmacy and the pharmacist there usually knows just as much as the Doc that prescribed it..

I'm not sure, but even if they were, they would have to directly enter YOUR bloodstream for it to have an effect on the baby. The last I knew, semen didn't effect your blood. Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy. If you are really that concerned, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

I don't have a definite answer to this... but I imagine it would, BUT it would probably be such a small amount that no harm will be done.
