I was 24 when I got mine done. Yes it did hurt, but not in a way that is agonizing for days or weeks later. My excitement easily overrided the "pain" as I was very determined to get it. The biggest fear is not knowing about the procedure or the instruments being used. I would suggest going to the parlor and watching someone get it done, to help alleviate any fearful concerns there. I can tell you for me, a tong instrument was used to pull the skin firmly, which was to be pierced. The fellow used a marker to mark the piercing spot, then I felt a tug.. like if you take your fingers and tug on the skin of your arm. You will feel a firm push, and the needle is in. I didn't choose to look down at it, lol.

I honestly thought giving blood was worse since it takes longer. If you have your ears pierced, belly button piercing is very similiar. The procedure occurs in less than 1 minute, so after that you're looking down at your shiny metal object, and get to show it off. You're only issue then is to not fidget with it, or get it infected, which is another ball game.

They do close easily so you have to learn caring instructions from a reputable piercer, as it is harder to take care of, then any piercing. I've had it done twice, so I know. Good luck!

Umm, neither. thirteen or 14 is especially youthful for that. i understand anybody else is doing it, yet that fad quite is demise down. If I had a daughter i'd help her if she change into doing it for causes except peer stress, anybody else is doing it, etc... yet when it change into for those causes i'd attempt to recommend adversarial to it. i visit assure you that in case you get that, at your age, it is going to positioned a tag on you through the boys or maybe ladies, that you'll nicely be slutty or something. attempt to seem on the specialists and cons and outcomes of having this; the scarring, the way human beings would percieve you(i imagine more beneficial will see at as permiscuous than cool). even if you do, do it for you, and under no circumstances because your pals have it.

I was 18 (my mom made me wait) and no it didn't hurt. However, a few years after that, the ring came out and the hole closed up. When I went to have it re-opened, it hurt like hell! The moral of the story: if you get it done, don't let it close unless you're really, really sure!

I got it done when I turned 18 and it stung for the second the needle goes through and I got it done again I think when I was 21. Didn't last long, instead of healing the hole kept getting bigger.

I was 16 -- it wasn't too bad. Like a bee sting, but it didn't keep hurting. Make sure you keep it clean!
