I need your opinion, I think I have the flu, fever, stuffy nose, sore throat, and exhausted. I have a week long substitute teaching job that ends tomorrow, should I call in sick tomorrow or tough it out?

Schools or any job working with children are much more lenient than other jobs...Communicable disease is a big no no and most principals would want u to not spread your germs..So if u have a temp , then Id stay home. You have to think you could be passing germs onto 20-30 kids, who probably never wash their hands in the first place. Take the day off, and rest the next few days. You should be good to go back to subbing on Monday.

No, don't go. I usually go to work when I'm sick just because I don't want to piss anybody off from having to call off. I've been sick a few times this year and have went to work. Where I work, they would rather have your body there and be sick, than to not have you at all. However, since you are around kids everyone might not like it so much!

So the substitute needs a substitute. Oh well!

personally, I'd go and finnish the job up. It's only temp. work anyhows, sitting at the desk reading or busying youself shouldnt be to hard. it's friday and the kids would want a little slack anyhow. I would go and take it easy out there, but get paid for it. Substituting is babysitting at times.

Since you are running a fever, I'd suggest staying home so that you don't expose others to your illness. Your body is fighting the germs and needs to be rested.

Personally, I feel that anyone that goes to work/school etc. when they are ill - really ill - fever etc., expose others to their illness and causes a cycle of infection and reinfection to occur. Please be considerate of others when you are this ill.

No because you will spread what ever you have causing more people to call off of work instead of just yourself.

no you should not. You are putting other people at risk. You are contagious. Also, your body needs rest and recuperation to heal.

Something is going around. You'd better not go in.
