Which blade would be considered "sharper?" Could a surgeon use an exacto knife to cut in to a patient just as well as a scalpel?

They're both about equally sharp, but an Exacto knife comes to a small point that could be a puncture danger to organs while a doctor was cutting around. And a scalpel would be hard to use to cut or puncture small areas for art.

A clean edge is a sharp edge. But, if you were cut by both, the wound from the Exacto would most likely be worse from the bacteria, spray mount, foam core etc.

Its going to be the scalpel, even if they start out the same, the packaging on a scalpel prevents corrosion, which will dull the edge

No, they are both designed to cut different things.
