From my personal experience with Japanese motorbikes, like
Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha types, I find that they are quite good, lasting and easy to maintain especially on the ranges from
125 cc to 250cc. But, if you're getting a bigger c.c type like
Suzuki intruder 1,500cc, the thing is that whether you're able
to handle it properly on the road, because they are really big
and heavy and very powerful too. If I were you, I'll take the 250cc
type which is manageable and powerful on the road.

I have a 750 Yamaha Virago it runs and looks good , I don't buy into the Harley thing at all. Why pay 3 times the price for a bike that is not any better. The engineering of Japanese bikes is comparable if not exceeding American made motorcycles.

Modern Japanese bikes are well made and with a little regular maintenance will go a long time. If the bike appeals to you then you should get it.

I cannot comment on this particular model, but I have owned MANY Japanese M/Cs, including Suzuki's, and have NEVER had a problem with ANY of them.

3500 isn't even broken in yet.
I believe that's the same year and model my brother-in-law has.
He's smaller than I am, if you can believe it, and he LOVES that big bike. I know he wouldn't trade it for my Superglide, not that I'd ask him.

it depends on how long you plan on keeping it...when it comes time to rebuild the motor and/or trans it will cost at least triple what a Harley will cost...either way, have a great time.
