There have been written thousands of books on Ancient Greece and its democracy. Also you may see several opinions expressed by professors that not always agree between them. Assuming that you are interested in the ancient Greece's democracy as political system I enclose some bibliography that I know it is good:
1. Gustave Glotz, "La cite Grecque", Editions Albin Michel, Paris 1953 (this is the original edition, I assume it will have been translated in English - i have read it in Greek - search for it, it is a full review on how the city - state operated during the years of democracy and not only.
2. R.K.Sinclair, "Democracy and Participation in Athens",Cambridge University Press, 1988
3. Jacqueline de Romilly has written several books on Ancient Greece and Democracy, even specialized books on women wrights on birth, wedding etc
For starting I would suggest these books although there are a lot more that are excellent. If you indicate me the exact sector that interests you I can propose you additional bibliography. Hoping that I have been helpful, do not hesitate to contact me for further info!
Have a nice day!

Your best bet is to use an encyclopedia - found at your local library - to get a general overview of the subject. Then check out the bibliography at the end of the article for more specific info. Hope this helps.

properly, don 't assume the start of democracy to be democracy as all of us understand of it at present.it truly is its commence ,which i imagine began with Kleisthenis.you should look it up on wikipedia or someplace on the cyber web.the actual undeniable reality that folk now voted for his or her chief turned right into a HIUGE replace, even although women couldn't vote on the time.
