Your fish is suffocating! The warmer the water, the less oxygen is in it. Heat drives out O2. Goldfish are coldwater fish and need temps in the range of 60-65 degrees. Also, goldfish need about 2-3 gallons of water per one inch of fish (not counting the tails).

Shut off the heater and get an air pump to get some air in there. A quick fix is to get a clean one gallon milk jug and fill it about three quarters full of water from the goldfish tank. Cap it and shake it really hard for about 20-30 seconds. Pour it back in the tank and repeat until you have oxygenated all the water in the tank. That will save you fish for now until you get an air pump and filter. I saved 12 tanks of tropical fish by doing this repeatedly during a 26 hour power outage. Boy were my arms tired....;o(

Be sure to do your regular (weekly) partial (25-30%) water changes so the ammonia, nitrites and nitrates don't reach toxic levels. That could also be part of the problem. The warmer the water, the more toxic those chemicals become.

Cause it's too damn hot. Goldfish are COLD WATER FISH. You're cooking it. It needs to NOT have a heater on it and be around 65-70 degrees!

Also, make sure it doesn't have any spots on it, or cuts, parasites, or anything else.

Make sure the tank is plenty oxygenated by using a bubbler or a filter that makes water splash into the tank.

And make sure you have used dechlorinator.

PLEASE do some research before you get any kind of pet so you know how to keep it alive and healthy.

Sounds like your tank may be too hot. Check out this site...recommends your tank should be between 50 degrees and 70 degrees. Don't drop the temp overnight though... if you do drop the temp you need to do it gradually.

Because they are baking and trying to get away for the hot areas. Your tank should be closer to 74 for them to be comfortable. Turn off the light and take the lid off the tank to allow for greater heat exchange.

Maybe the corners reflect light, so it looks like there are other goldfish there?

they are probably hugging the corners because they normally swim around objects to hide or to be near things so they are just doing it to be more comfortable
