I did. But I was made fun of at school, so I stopped. But if you think you have a hold on make-up and can pull it off better than I did when I was thirteen, go for it! And go for subtle.

When my daughter hits thirteen I will defiantly let her wear some lip gloss and some very neutral eye shadow, face powder etc if it is a special occasion.
You do not need makeup to be beautiful, true beauty comes from within and radiates out. However a little make up never hurt anyone as long as you enhance what you already have rather than going for the coco the clown or hooker look .
Speak to your parents again, perhaps go shopping with your mum and look at some of the more subtle tones that are available.
If you are about to start wearing make up, also ensure that you are following a decent face care routine. IE, remove all makeup before going to bed, cleanse tone and moisturise. Your skin will thank you as you grow.

This age is tough. If you do use make up, go light. Accent things like your lips and eyes but not much more. Do a colored lip gloss rather than a lipstick. Everyone has natural beauty you just need to find it. Too much makeup makes you look old or silly. So maybe some mascara and lip gloss. Go to the mall, have your mom go with you. Tell the makeup counter you want something that will maintain the image of a 13yr old, but something to accent your best features.
Then you and your mother can decide what works and what does not before buying any make up.

Girls are Girls and yes make-ups a big part of a Girlie Girls life. At your age i remember being sent into the ladies room at school with a jar of cold-cream and some tissues. Why? because i had mascara on and it was thick, i must have looked like Dame Edna Ever-age, LOL? Anyway i would go with subtle colours depending on your features and skin tone, maybe avoid the mascara or buy a clear one. My guess is your probably already gorgeous so just be confident and happy, that is more appealing than any make-up.

I see a lot of advice on your question. From a mother who had a daughter that age, I can understand your desire to come outta the little girl phase...that is normal. People will appreciate your growth more if you take it easy on the makeup and not get 'hoochie' with your clothes. You have no idea how men perceive girls...you need to be cautious. 13 or 24 - men don't know the difference. Try to keep it natural but it's okay to express yourself. Girls feel beautiful when they are 'made up,' just take it easy at your age. Your parents are amateurs so try to coach them slowly. Best of luck! :)

I believe that a 13 year old should be allowed to wear SOME makeup, just not more than three items at one time. Also, dont wear foundation, it makes it look like youre trying too hard unless applied really lightly, as if you didnt wear any at all. If youre 13, i suggest you stick with these three items: mascara, blush, and lipgloss. Just curl your lashes, apply one coat of mascara, curl lashes again (comb them with lash comb), apply a bright blush under cheekbones, squeeze some gloss on your lips from the tube and you'll have a young/fresh look that wont look like youre wearing a lot of makeup.

It's fine if you don't pile it on. Use light things. Your goal is to try to inprove yourself but look like your not wearing any make-up. Use tones that make your skin very well and don't cake on the blush and eyeliner/ eyeshadow. Use an eyeshadow that is a little bit darker then your natural skin tone. Look at some magazines if you have them, it should help. Good Luck.

Don't go crazy with it. Buy some magazines like CosmoGirl! and Seventeen, which will show you how to play up your features without making you look like a clown. Go subtle. A little mascara and lip gloss can do wonders. Use natural colors, at least until your parents are more comfortable with it.

Don't wear make-up. At age 13 I think you look too young to wear make-up. if you must wear something stick with lip gloss and maybe some glitter face lotion? At your age you should try to go for the cutsey look rather than look older than what EVERYONE knows you are. Wearing a base, mascara, lip liner, blush, etc. would just make you the laughing stock of the other's in your class.

You are beautiful in the eyes of your creator and that is what matters! Listen to your parents. 13 is way to young to start wearing make-up. ok, maybe a little lip gloss...but just a touch.

Yeah it's ok to wear make up at thirteen, I think. I'm thirteen and my mummy won't let me wear make up cuz she thinks it's too grown. But I don't see a problem with it. Just don't put too much on and use light colors because the make up style is supposed to look kinda natural. And make sure u wash ur face every day if you use it even if it looks like the make up wore off. Besides you're supposed to wash your face everyday anyway. Well anyway, good luck with that!
