Students in my class asked whether or not a judge has ever sentenced a convicted felon to a life in prison and ordered that when the felon dies he is to buried standing up.

The English judicial system often allowed some rather peculiar instructions as to how to dispose of a felon's remains...

...including allowing the autopsied body to be viewed by the public (sometimes for a small fee), and using a murderer's own skin to bind a book describing his crimes and trial.
