Vivid verbs? Hmmm **** you is a vivid verb. Sorry for saying such but its true. Its so powerful that it can hurt other people's feelings.

Two examples:
He whacked the ball out of the park. OR;
He hit the ball out of the park.
Which verb, whacked or hit, does the most for you? Whacked!
It has more punch. Most every common verb can be upgraded to a better one.
