Does this mean the sewage/plumbing system of my house has problems? We never had a overflow or something...Do I need to worry about it?

your vent pipe sounds like it is plugged shut making the drain to your washing machine suck air from the sink and the toilet. you need to find the vent pipe on the roof, put a garden hose down it, and turn the water on. hopefully this will unplug the vent and the toilet and sink will not bubble anymore.

if your toilet and sink are bubbling it sounds as if you may have a venting problem and the drain on the washing machine is searching for air to drain the water away.. maybe a cheater vent will help the problem. this does not mean you have bad drains just that the washing machine drain is not vented..

Get on the roof with a hose and wash out the drain vent, being cautious it may have a bees nest in it..
