I don't know why she'd be upset about the 20 yr. old pillow that is sentimental for you. Unless, its a twisted sentimental thing. If its passed down from generation to generation, that shouldn't be a problem. If you need it to comfort you or you must have it to even sleep, that's a bit odd.

Maybe she's jealous of the attention you give the pillow that could be given to her? She might also be thinking she's helping you to put childish things away and be her Man.

Ask her why it bothers her so bad? Explain why its so sentimental to you. Make a choice....your wife or the pillow.

Good luck to you.

Very creative way to grab attention.

You're wife shouldn't get upset, since the pillow does have sentimental value to you, but you have to make sure of a couple things.

One, the appearance of the pillow might be one of the reasons it bothers your wife. Perhaps you could do alittle give and take, and allow her to pick a different pillow case so that it matches the rest of the bed. That way, it looks like it fits in better, yet you still get your same amount of comfort.

Secondly, make sure you are not cuddling so much with your pillow that you forget about your wife. It may sound silly, but my partner tends to do that to me. If you cuddle the pillows like my boyfriend does, I can understand why your wife is so upset!

Try to do alittle give and take. That way, you can keep your sentimental object, and she can have an easier time dealing with it.

Good luck!

Tell her to get over it! She should be relieved your sleeping with a 20 year old pillow and not a 20 year old woman.

How stupid of her. My 24 year old son still sleeps with his Elmo pillow and he has a 2 yr old daughter and a 3mo old son! His wife thinks it's cute. They went for a week-end with friends one time and he took his Elmo and quess what? The other guy brought his teddy bear! Tell your wife to get over it.

First, I want to know : is it a female pillow or a male one? in case of female, your wife should ask for divorce immediately. in case of male , You should revise your marriage ;)

It was just for joking, but Seriously, these addictions comes straight from your childhood and a psychologist can help you get rid of it. A memory of calmness and satisfaction we had had in our childhood attach itself to a physical object and make us believe that only and only with help of that object we can live (and sleep) in peace. As soon as you believe that childhood and its peaceful days never come back, the object will be only an old , rusty pillow.
Wish you luck.

That was a good one. Haha< No she shouldn't be mad. I had my favorite childhood pillow for almost 35 years, and it was my grandmas before that . I finally had to throw it away. too many washings. I would still have it if I could . And you know my neck never feels quite right at night anymore. I miss that pillow . Thanks for bringing up it's memory.

It is your comfort zone and she need to respect it and leave it alone. Anyone that has had anything from childhood would understand. If you were in an accident and you were unable to come home, I know she would hold your pillow because it has your smell.

As long as you wash it and it is santitary, I don't see a problem. She shouldn't get pissed if it is something you cherish from a long time ago unless of course you got it from an ex. I have a blanket that my great grandmother gave me about 20 years ago that I sleep with every night also.
