a soldier is held captive by the enemy......the enemy lets the soldier pick how he wants to die,the enemy tells the soldier if he lies he will be hanged and if he tells the truth he will be shot.......after the soldier makes his statement hes free!,what was his statement?

I heard this before. The answer is, "I am lying."
This is a paradox because if he is really lying then he must be telling the truth but if he is telling the truth then he is lying. The cycle repeats itself.

The soldier says, "I don't want to die", which would be the truth. After he is shot, he is (technically) free.

It doesn't matter what his statement was because either way he was killed thus being free from imprisonment.
