A lot of people won't agree but The Exorcist was disturbing. It scared the **** out of me and to this day Regan's fully possessed face haunts me.

These are way out there, most of you probably haven't seen them but there's a foreign film that came out in the early 90s called Leolo and it was very disturbing. And there's this 70s Polanski film called The Tenant that is very, very disturbing psychologically. Freaky film. Neither scary or frightening per se, but "disturbing"? Definitely.

The "Wizard Of Gore". Made in the 60's as an exploitation flick. It was about an evil hypnotist-magician who would torture and kill young female members of the audience who volunteered for his on-stage acts. He would then hypnotize the rest of the audience into believing the murders they witnessed were illusions. What makes this movie exceptionally gross are the methods he used to kill his victims. For example he gutted a girl with a Punch-Press, shoved a sword down the throat of another girl, and other gruesome killings. Blood & guts everywhere. I got nauseaus when I saw it. Disgusting! I don't know how that movie got made and distributed in the first place. Especially in the 1960's!

The Blair Witch Project scared me badly. I could hardly drive home afterwards for fearing of the Blair Witch getting me.

I saw Faces of Death when I was a kid. Number 1, I guess. The cannibals, the race car crashes. It was somewhat disturbing but it looked like **** on my VCR so it didn't too much to upset me . . . more upsetting for me when I was a kid were The Shining and The Exorcist . . .

I thought they banned anymore copies of Faces of Death in the US. I first saw that movie as a kid with my older brothers. To answer your question: It is a tie between The Hills Have Eyes or Saw. They crossed the line when they made a fictional movie out of real brutal and psychotic behavior that happens in real crimes. These movies stay in your mind. At least in Faces of Death the stuff was real. I used to LOVE horror movies. That is, until I saw these two movies.

The hills have eyes. That was a scary movie, disturbing. Gore was a part of it. Plus the cannabalism. I wanted to turn it off at the rape scene but I didnt. A disturbing movie.

The Blair Witch Project, I found it disturbed me greatly that anyone would ever want to spend money to watch such crap, and then consider it a scary movie, when it was the most boring, dumb and useless waste of celluloid ever made.

Saving Private Ryan, I love that movie, it's just the first time that I saw it I was like holy crap at the beach scene and the scene were the guy is trying to blow up the tank with his sock and blows himself up. It was still a great movie though.

Fight Club and Shindler's list disturbed me. I get quite frightend by films, like these, which show how apparently normal people can get swept into a group where they no longer question what they are doing.
