No don't put the betta in the tiny little bowls. The minimum for a betta is one gallon. That is just enough to dilute the ammonia and nitates the fish produces and to give them enough room to swim. Bettas do not require airation in their water since the are labyrinth fish. I would give up on the divider idea because to will only cause problems if one fish gets sick or the get rowdy and one jumps over the edge and into the others half. I have three bettas and they each have their own bowl. What I did was go around wal-mart and the dollar store and look for intersting shaped bowls. One betta lives in a round fish bowl, one in a cookie jar set up right so it has all these cool looking angels (and you can't tell it is a cookie jar), and the third in a square craker jar. They are all a gallon and look cool with all of the shapes. They are all glass and amazingly easy to clean. Each cost anywhere from $5.00-$7.00 after tax in my area. It is easy and I find it easy to care for and the bettas are happy.

Wal-Mart, I picked up a complete 10 gallon set up for $15. Recommended size tank for Bettas are a gallon for every inch the fish grows. Average size for an adult Beta is 3 inches. 70-78 degrees, tropical enviroment. Treat tap water to remove chlorine and harmful metals. It is not recommended to keep a Betta in a vase with live plants or small bowl with no filtration.**OK, I didnt have my facts straight about the filtration but check out the website below**

The betta would be plenty fit and greater lively in a three-5 gallon aquarium with a heater. everyone seems to be frequently stunned whilst they watch my betta via fact he's never ever sitting nonetheless- yet whilst they are in small bins they don't flow and that they only waft there. i'd additionally recommend a filter out, not purely via fact it is better for the fish even though it additionally cuts down on a brilliant form of tank maintenance. as a fashion to maintain the fish alive in a one gallon bowl you are going to would desire to do 50% water modifications each and daily, that's amazingly annoying for the fish.

Try Petsmart.com , i have bought divided plastic like aquariums from there many times . Betta fish don't have to have a filtered tank, you can just use like a vase or something. Any local pet store should have what your looking for.

Get 2 glass bowls, around $10 each. With large openings so the tank doesn't start to smell really quickly and so in the breeding season when the betta's build a bubble nest they don't clog up the opening with bubbles and suffocate themselves. The plastic ones seem to start smelling a lot quicker then glass. And a complete opposite to what everyone else says... Betta's like open areas of water, big enough to swim around in. Mine do!
Please don't put them in tiny little glasses so they can hardly move. No one really knows what a fish likes but i say they like large tanks.

You can actually get cute little betta tanks at Walmart in the Pet department for around $10.00, but they do quite well in any little glass bowls. I'd advise against putting them so close together though. I know they are really pretty when they fan out, but being in such close proximity to each other stresses them out pretty bad, and they don't survive very long.

Wal mart. They have a huge variety, once you pick out the tank, go to the craft section and buy a piece of plastic mesh for a buck. You can cut it to size and use it to separate the Betta's

Beta fish are happy in tiny fish bowls. This is very close to their natural habitat. In nature, they live in small puddles in rice fields. So you don't need anything extravagant. The smallest fish bowl will do. The answer regarding one gallon per inch is applies to other types of fish, but not beta fish.
