The only thing that matters in that situation is how much the carpet costs... See the carpet in my house is so cheap (due to my landlords) I could butter BOTH sides and three edges, well then drop the toast or throw it, and it will land on the ONE unbuttered edge... Now the higher the cost of the carpet the higher the probability that it will land buttered side down.
