I need some help on my Algebra 2 problems.
Can you simplify those problems:
1) square root of 18 divided by square root of 5
2)1 divided by square root of 7

To "simplify" these, you need to eliminate the radical in the denominator and make sure to bring any perfect square factors out from under the radical sign.

For example, in 1) multiply the top and bottom by sqrt(5) and also recognize that sqrt(18) is the same as 3sqrt(2). Therefore, the simplified form of this expression will be 3sqrt(10)/5.

In 2) just multiply top and bottom by sqrt(7), so you get sqrt(7)/7.

That's all you need to do. Do NOT plug these into your calculator and get decimalize answers. That's not what they want!

1. Rationalize the fraction by multiplying root 5 to both numerator and denominator.

root 90 / 5

then simplify the square root: root 90 = 3 * root 10

So the answer is 3/5 * root 10

2. Same technique as question1 - multiply both numerator and denominator by root 7.

root 7 / 7 will be your answer

the square root of 18 is 324 divided by square root of 5 which is 25 is 12.65
one divided by square root of seven could be 1/49
