If you live in New Jersey and have a baby and want to leave your husband, where could you go. If you had an illness and may be facing brain surgery and your husband was abusive and irresponsible, but you must leave, is there a place????Maybe like a shelter with a crib for baby????Are you entitled to social services till you get employed and your health is well????

google the words 'new jersey abused women shelter" and start making phone calls. every city has a shelter for abused women, and there they will have people who know all the rest for you to get the help you need. do it now. don't be alone in this. and i'm not a crazy fundamentalist but, God bless you, and take care of yourself and your baby.

if you know you want to leave, check into womens shelters. check this website at shes got help. be very careful about getting involved with dept of human services. you can get medical, food stamps, etc, but do not let child prot svcs near you or your child. it is a well documented problem in the us that cps is unnecessarily taking children. your local womans shelter is the best place, as they will know the who/what/why of your area, availability. i was young and left with my child an eon ago. i got housing assistance, state aid, my college degree, and my self respect. good luck
