The Panthers did not look very well in there first to games what are some keys they need to have to regroup?

They obviously need Steve Smith. If he plays Sunday I think the Panthers can register a win against the also struggling Bucs. The next two games look winnable as well with New Orleans and Cleveland. A 3-2 record look look a lot better than the current 0-2. The next 3 games could really tell whether the Panthers can recover from the poor start and re-assert themselves as a probable playoff team this year. Games against a tough Baltimore team, followed by games against Cincinnati and Dallas will either re-establish the Panthers as a powerhouse in the NFC or put them in a very difficult hole. I think the answer to your question would just be an opinion at this point based on the outcome of the next 5 games. I think the reason the Panthers are 0-2 is that they played two very good NFC teams in Atlanta and Minnesota and the absence of Smith hurt quite a bit.

It is all about Steve Smith. When he is healthy there will be two legitimate threats at WR on the field. Right now the best they have is Keyshawn and he isn't going to beat many double teams. When Smith comes back he will draw double teams which will open up Keyshawn and the running game. I don't think they are as good as people thought they were last year though. They were lucky enough to get a cold inexperinced Bears team in the playoffs. This year their division is shaping up so even with Smith it will be a battle to make the postseason

Steve Smith needs to come back near 100% in a hurry.

Dan Morgan's injury (LB) has hurt the team.

The good news for them is the next 3 games are all winnable (Bucs, Saints, Browns). Important that they win all 3 or at least 2. After that, they play at Baltimore, and at Cincinatti, at best you think they'll go 1-1 in those games.

So if they go 2 for 3, then 1 out of 2 ... they then sit at 3 wins, 4 losses, still alive.

If they don't go 2 out 3 over the next 3 weeks, color them done.

If Steve Smith is back to his top form like he was last season, then they should have a great game.

Steve Smith needs to return and help his team out of their slump. Is he trying to emulate T. O. ???
