My husband decided he wanted to chase more tail as soon as his boots hit Iraq. Yes,it was Via Internet...Ex: Asking girls for pictures..sexy letters, you get the idea. Even talking to an old GF!! Anyhow,we were just married in July, and he is already doing this crap? I don't think so!! I have been home waiting, worried, loyal, all year long with all the chances to meet people but I don't care a thing about it. We said our vows and ,I meant my vows. He broke my heart, and crushed his 3 little stepdaughters as well. I have proof he was doing this stuff, and I want out before it is to late. We were together a long time, but I just found this stuff out. Can I file for a divorce even though he is in Iraq? If not,how long do you think it will be? Thank you!

TO coloklute:
No,I did not marry a man just so he can screw around, online,in the office,it doesn't matter. Just because your Military doesn't give you any reason to cheat.

Let me add....He flipped out if I even mentioned a guys name, and would freak out if I were not home every second. I was a good wife, and there is no reason he can't be faithful back. Alot of it is about respect to me,and the family. I respected him,and I never in a million years wpuld hve emailed stuff like he did. Military men are not Gods, and they do not slide by just because they are in a war. I do not agree that just because he is Military, that gives him any right to do this stuff. Waaa waa.....I have been home all year managing a full house, and home along with many other things. I didn't know our vows said "For better or worse, and that he will cheat on you during the worse"..........Also,Worse shouldn't be worse only after 2 months of marriage.

Holly, I'm sorry to hear about your situation. I believe you can file for a divorce even though he's over seas. Check with a lawyer though, most lawyers have the first consultation free and if not there maybe legal-aide assistance in your area. I can understand how he might feel being far from home, but that does not excuse him or his behavior; especially since you've been loyal to him. Good luck and let me know how things turn out.

You can get an annulment because you were married less than 2 years. It's not like you two had children together, so you don't have to go through the divorce thing. Yes, you file for divorce. Talk you a lawyer about the procedure.

Yes, you can file the papers and serve it via Certified mail, and it will be finalize in six months. I did mine ten years ago and my mother in law is getting hers done as we speak and all of us your married to people that were in different country during the divorce hearing. There are three different ways you can serve those papers. Good Luck

You can file divorce and get the paperwork started but nothing can be finalized until he is back in the country and signs the papers.

Hold on there sweetcakes. War is Hell, and although he screwed up, it's not like he cheated on you in the BIBLICAL SENSE. All men look at other women. You may drive a Ferrari, but you'll look at the Corvette that goes by. Hell, sometimes you'll look at the Camry. When he comes home, get some counseling together. Try that first. Make him tell you everything.

if you really know for a fact that he has cheated yes you can get a divorce, however I don,t think I would serve the papers while he is in Iraq, even if he is a cheat...First off you would feel quilty if he got killed while serving in Iraq ,you would feel as if your divorce had something to do with it....As soon as he returns I would tell him just how I felt and then you would feel good about it....then get the divorce...If you feel you need to go on with your life, then go for it if you are sure, but Please wait to tell him.I would hate for you to feel guilty over the cheat!

They are all wrong, yes you can file but unfortunately for you he is protected while he is serving overseas. He is not reponsable to contest or even respond until he gets back. Keep drawing on his benefits for being over seas and wait till he gets back.

I believe you can start the process while he is in Iraq. Have the military serve him the papers while he is there. No one deserves to be created like you have been. Enjoy your daughters while they are young. Good luck.

I think you need to be a little bit stronger for your marriage. Did he sleep with someone out in the desert? I guess you dont remember the part in your vows that said "for better or for worse"
