I think ideally, everybody should be given a second chance. There's no reason not to.
BUT, forgiveness is something that takes a great deal of strength to do, so never forgiving somebody for something is understandable if the offense is extreme, like if somebody did something horrible to your family.
Another thing, is who's allowed to give forgiveness? Are you allowed to "forgive" people for offenses they did to somebody else?

I think I've got the "forgiving" part mastered......now all I need to work on is "forgetting". *sigh* My memory is too darn good sometimes.

I think this is a very complex question but personally I think that not everyone deserves a second chance. There are some things that are so violent or disturbing or cruel that never deserve forgiveness and a perpetrator of such an act should be left to suffer with the knowledge that what he/she did is so offensive that they can never have forgiveness.
And in my opinion forgiveness can only be give by the victim (or if the victim is no longer alive, then by their relatives/spouse etc) and God.

Well I think anyone can forgive but not everyone can be forgiven. If someone did something like they killed someone then they shouldn't be forgive because that person took a live from other person who may not have done anything. And nothing they do can bring them back. Now if someone just said something mean to another person then eventually they should be forgiven. Like I had 3 friends(A,N, and L) and we were like best friends and then one day L stopped talking to me. I asked A what I did and she said that I didn't do anything. So I ask N the same thing but she didn't know either. So I ask her myself she said that I was being irritating and she just didn't want to be my friend anymore but everyone of my friends think I am irritating and they are still my friends. So I said what ever I don't need her. Then one day i go to talk to N and she wouldn't talk to me so I went to A and asked what was with N and she said she didn't know. As it turned out L had talked to N and made it so that N wouldn't be my friend anymore so it was just me and A and this was a year ago. now I forgive N and I forgive L because I don't go to the same school as L so it doesn't matter and as it turned out N and A stopped being friends with L so I ended up winning. Now I talk to N everyday and even though we don't go to the same school as A we still talk to her. So sometimes people can be forgiven and sometimes they cant.

Forgiveness. I think that God gave us all a conscience so that we could choose to forgive or not. We can decide whether we need to forgive in whatever situation.

if the person that got hurt was very close to you, and you had a special relationship with them, then there pain becomes your pain so u may have been hurt when they were hurt. so yes i think that sometimes you have to forgive someone else for doing something to the person you love.
