I suggest you contact a local church, that knows their families, and family needs. If and when you find a person, both of you have to sit down and check each other out. Once you make a decision to rent/lease it is very difficult to remove them, if you should later decide that you two are not getting along.

Well I did a search online to find a roommate and had a few people come over and look at the place. They seemed normal but I ended up having a friend move in. Just search like roommates.com or something and go from there.

I suggest that you find a friendly apartment manager and ask for advice from him/her. You could probably call or drop by a nice apartment house in your neighborhood. People love to tell you about what they do...just look at this website! Good luck.
