I suggest you give yourself a chance and take many classes in community college before deciding on one occupation. Also, see a career counselor in Student Services. They will guide you and their services are free! You will also want to meet with people at the Learning Center. Bring them your documentation re: learning disabilities so you can get what help you need.

I, too, have many learning disabilities and epilepsy and have not let it stop me. I now have a Masters of Arts degree in Counseling and have since retired due to health reasons.

You can do whatever you want to do in life. It is true. Best wishes.

If you know how to type than you are already prepared to be a secretary. You could switch to Liberal Arts or Business Administration. However, don't give up on your dreams because of your learning disability. You've come this far already! Why don't you try Careercruising.com? It has a test that can help you decide what career path would be best for you and its actually fun.
At your college make sure to let your advisor know about your learning disorder, because you may need a tutor or extra time on tests. That doesn't mean you aren't smart- it means you are smart because you are doing every thing you can to reach your goals.

To be a secretary, learning disabled or not, you probably must have the ability to type the above paragraph without spelling, grammar, or punctuation errors. Start out a general education, see how it goes, make a definite decision later on what you want to pursue as your first job. Then after completing all your training, go back and look at how many actual errors are in your question.

Learn how to touch type, master computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc) learn the intricacies of the English (and other) languages and diplomacy. Don't consider getting coffee and picking up your boss' dry cleaning "under" you, and you will go far.

talk to the school and equire about an program for office adminstration. You might also discuss this with a high school guidance councellor. Do you know someone who is a secretary - someone you look up to and trust ? If so, talk to them,
