my address book used to show people that are on line but no more - why?

uninstall and re-install your instant messenger. Of course you will have to reinvite your buddies to your list, happened to me once doing this worked.

maybe they made themselves invisible, i do it all the time when i'm chatting and don't want to be disturbed by someone on my address list.
