well, for one thing, the main pipeline of gas for the U.S. (in Alaska) was shut down after they discovered rust and erosion in the pipes, so to prevent explosions, they shut it down, creating prices to sky rocket to an all time high. This pipe affected all other pipelines as well by forcing the workers to work longer and harder, and eventing in higher wage demands, of which their wages comes from the consumers, us.

Gas prices are high because we still have alot of demand for it. Complain to the suburb moms who use an armored tank for one kid or the guy who drives everyday a few blocks to work instead of walking or riding a bike.
