ok, I've been feeling like crying for a longg time now. Every time I try to cry, no tears come out. I mean, my nose is all runny and stuffy, my eyes get kinda puffy and water a little, but I can't cry. I'm not dehydrated, I've been drinking alot of water, so I know thats not it...whats wrong with me?

maybe because you haven't fully accepted or developed in your mind whatever is bugging you. i know cuz i'm a peer counselor (i'm in high school) and i talk to lots of girls about their problems. it takes some a little longer to cry. like, i'll see them by the hall and they'll seem fine. but once they start letting it all go the tears start coming. what you could do is just talk to someone that you REALLY trust in and just vent.

Some people cry easily and some people don't. In my experience if you try to cry it immediately stops you from crying - I'm not sure why.

Perhaps you have been told at some time in your life that it is wrong to cry - cry-baby, get over it, grow up - many people can't handle other peoples emotions so they try to block them. If that is the case then there may be a part of you that is stopping yourself from crying.

Sometimes it's too scary to cry because you feel that once you start you won't be able to stop.

Try thinking of something sad that has happened to someone else or watch something like the Remembrance Service for Steve Irwin - that may trigger your own tears.

I don't think there is anything wrong with you, feeling sad and getting a little extra water in the eyes is normal when your sad. When something hurts us it takes awhile to process the hurt -- getting hurt is kind of a shock and it takes time to get used to the fact that someone or something has hurt us. We need time to make sense of it, to think about it -- this is the stage you are at now. When you are ready, you will cry and get the emotional release you are looking for. Asking the question in the first place shows you are a sensitive person. Be good to yourself and give yourself permission to feel bad and when the time comes, give yourself permission to cry. I hope that you feel better soon.

Well, sometimes that just happens. It's not a bad thing. Just try not to cry and nobody will notice. Even if you do cry your friends won't know.
