i think he made some remarks that are undignified, and went for a cheap "tee hee" giggle, which is disrespectful to not only the host nation, but also to the other delegates at the event. further, i think it demonstrates a flair of arrogance and pompousness that does not reflect well on his nation. There is a place for humor, and a simple one liner would have sufficed - but to go on as he did, and digress to such sophomoric comments -- under the guise of being clever or witty -- well, it just shows that he is not much of a statesman. That's my opinion. If this were a celebrity roast at the expense of George Bush, he would have been fine. In a forum as important as the UN? He was a ridiculous clown, and he should really consider getting a new angle.

I'm not crazy about the president of Venezuela. However, I do think he is almost right about Bush. I remember seeing a cartoon a few years ago of Bush & Cheney. Cheney was wearing a T-Shirt that pointed at Bush & said "I'm with Stupid!" Bush was wearing one that pointed at Cheney that said "I'm with the Devil"

The Venezuealan president is like a child. Saying whatever will get him attention, even if it's bad attention. Same with the Iranian president. They enjoy attention. As for your question, Chavez is off his rocker and whatever he says seems to be a rant.

I am not a fan of "the current President"
but
if you come over to my house, do not talk smack about my family.

Even if I say something bad about my brother, that doesn't give you permission to do the same. If you do, you'll have a problem with me too!

If someone as dumb as Bush turns out to be the Devil, then we've highly overrated the Devil.
