I was a stay at home mom also for 13 years with 6 kids. I also wanted to get out of the house and go to work. I have been back to work for 4 years, I hate it!! It's very hard to go to work come home cook and clean! I never have time for myself or to do the things i want to do in the house. My youngest child is 5 years old and i never have time for him. And then when they have holidays I'm at work while they have to stay home, and that just sucks! Also the father is no longer in the picture! So now i don't have a choice to stay home. Enjoy your kids they grow up so fast there only little for a short time my other kids are 15,14,13,12,11. Well hope things work out for you..

It sounds that you are really overwhelmed with your life! I advise any mom thinking about rejoining the workforce to consider why they want to work (money, personal sastisfaction), to weigh the pros and cons (are we really better off by the time we pay for childcare, gas, education, and wardrobe expeneses or are the insurance, emotional, and fiscal perks worthwhile?) talk with all the family members the choice will affect, and do what they think is best for thier family without requard to outside opinions. You are likely to feel some quilt no matter what you decide(mom's curse) With young kids to consdier, you might want to find out what options you have in a school or child care faciltiy so your hours are more like theirs. If going back to the work force is not fiscally fesable, consider some volunteer work for the emotional benefits. Good luck with your decision.

i made the sacrifice to stay at home with my children, instead of going back to work, and i'm so glad i did. my son isnt sick all the time, like most daycare kids. and my school age kids love getting to come home after school instead of going to an after school program. also there are those precious moments that i get with my kids during that time that i wouldnt trade for anything. dont get me wrong, i do miss my own money, but i feel my time spent with my children is very much more important.

Well, ask yourself this question: Is the family better off with me working or staying home? Tough question as you must consider your need to work versus the nurturing you give the kids versus your husbands concern for the kids. (Remember though you will not get another chance to nurture)

Well... from personal experience.. I can say... that you have to get back into the work world soon or you won't get back in at all. Trust me!! You should earn a nanny ( if you make enough money to afford a nanny ). Your husband should not control you. You are a free woman!! and yo still have choice!!!!! So talk to your husband... you can't stay out of the work world much longer or it will be VERY difficult to get back into it!

you should definitely explain to him how important it is to you that you go back to work. just remember to give your younger children enough attention when you go back.
