Some Ibanez basses are lightweight. I've also played Yamaha and Peavey basses that were really light. The weight of the bass is going to be influenced by the body style (how much total wood it has) and by the type of wood. If you want to keep the weight down, find a bass with a small, thin body made from a lightweight wood. The sound is going to be affected by the size of the bass, though, so you probably won't get as much low end if you have a smaller bass.

The best lightweight bass that i own is a slammer, plays really well, but the sound is not as great as the heavier guitars.
