Mostly from media I trust, but I also like to listen to what people have to say. There are frequent lively discussions of world events at my club, with opinions from the entire political spectrum, some very well informed and some who believe everything they see on TV.
One of the things I've noticed is that, even though some people express opinions that I find abhorrent, I still like them as persons.

I take the Chomsky route...I read alot and question the facts presented that I just read to inqure on their validity. I watch Fox just because they are a public relations machine for the White House so I get a better sense of where or what our government propaganda wants us to think. The National Security Archives are pretty informative. I also check out right and left wing websites and research their claims for validity.

well... there are also government reports, like census reports and NCLB reports that are very interesting... in scientific reports and senate voting records... which are also very interesting...
but I also watch the media... and many different types of media, both the "conservative" types and "liberal" types... Fox, CNN, networks, AP, MSNBC, BBC... a bit of everything here and there...
I think this is part of the problem... no one side of the media is going to give you all the information...
if you're only listening to CNN, Michael Moore and air America, you're not getting the whole story...
If you're only watching fox, listening to Rush and looking at NewsMax, you're not getting all the news either...
look at both, the truth is usually somewhere in the middle...

most media is corporate owned, and the info is controlled
it no longer reports all news, just diversionary and pointless news
you have to go with underground or people powered media like Indy or Democracy Now!, democratic underground or listen to other people not on GOP payroll like ABC, or on Pentegon 'take' like Century 21 Fox News (cable and entertainment news network)
it's a good distraction, though but Faux News often says "fair and ballanced" while reporting slanted news to begin with

I listen to the radio and check the internet. CNN drives me crazy as does Fox News.

Where else would we get it? Insider information?! To answer the question directly, of course. To say that either doesn't think for themselves is propaganda and foolish.
