It sounds like your friend may have what is known as binge eating disorder. I have posted a link to some information below. I think the best thing she can do, would be to see her doctor and look into some kind of therapy as well as seeing a nutrionist. HTH : )

Your friend IS overweight. At least 20 pounds. She has an eating disorder called BED- binge eating disorder- probably. She needs to seek counseling right away. Obsession with food is a dangerous thing. TRUST ME- She is using eating- and thoughts of eating- as a distraction from her REAL problems. She needs a proffessional to help her get in touch with what's really going on- hurry- it's best stopped now. This eating disorder could spiral out of control- and likely will- she may end up HUGE or she may have starving episodes between binges OR most likely she will eventually become bulimic- She will need to learn to "face her stuff, not stuff her face" as a wise woman once told me. She may not think she has any "issues" to be addressed by a counselor, but she wouldn't be so out of control if she didn't. She sounds just like me as a youngster. I finally got help after 15 years of struggling. I did spiral out of control- but hopefully your friend will not. This is so serious. There are social workers who will help counsel her for free if she can't afford it and if her parents do not understand the severity of this.
I hope this helps.
If she knows God, she can draw strength from him.

yes, she does sound like she's overweight. You could calculate her body mass index: weight (kg) / ht x ht (m)
If the result is above 24.9 then she needs to watch her weight.

And the reason why she can't stop eating is because food is always on her mind even though she tells herself not to eat. It's just like for example, if someone keeps saying to herself, "don't blink, don't blink", all the more, it she will be tempted to blink.

What your friend could do is to go and find an activity she enjoys to keep her mind off food. And stay away from where food is present. This way, she will be able to exercise more self-control when it comes to eating.

Good luck in that!!

Wow thats 28lbs per foot. She has a severe case of chronic twinkatosis. She needs to start exercising and I dont mean working her arms by shoving more food in her face. get off the couch and start running, or she'll die a slow painful death from being so fat. How does she ever expect to find a guy. Granted ther are chunky lovers out there but thier all perverted piggy lovers.

She might want to see a nutritionist, they might be able to help her. If all she thinks about is food, and can't stop eating, maybe eating 5 small meals a day may help. I'm not a nutritionist, but any help is good.

Its a little much for her height but i wouldnt worry about it too much. Alot of girls thin out as they get older especially after puberty. Just tell her to try to eat healthy things and dont try to lose weight, just try to maintain the weight that she is at until she is done growing.

Sounds a little overweight. What does she do all day, she shouldnt be thinking about food all the time. Does she just sit around thinking about food? If so she needs to get a life!

Wow she is big. But, since u guys are probally still growing, DON"T GO ON A DIET! Only tell her to go on one if her docter says its okay. But she should try to eat celery beacause it's negative calories. Hope i helped. God Bless.

I think we are a country obsessed with weight issues. If you friend is happy and is a good friend that should be all that matters - no matter what her weight.
