I think HATE is a really harsh word. I don't hate someone...it requires too much energy on my part.
Feel great contempt for, do not respect, look upon with disdain, find them to be worthless and wretched...Absolutely!! : )

Hate is an emotionally based "word". It is also a justifiable feeling we have when we are emotionally upset about something. It illustrates the "level" of anger....Not necessarily the anger itself. If someone is intensely angry, then it may be conveyed as "extreme" or hate.....much like rage. So, the answer really depends on the person's frame of mind at the time of the offense that occured. The level that "hate" brings us to is usually temporary, so it would really be difficult to maintain hate for a long period of time. Human nature dictates compassion for others for the most part - most people have good intentions, but get upset. So, if we say, "Do you hate me?" for example, given that it is a feeling triggered by an action, to hate "someone" is not usually the case. It is usually "something" that someone did - so, the answer is no, I don't think anyone really hates anyone - But I do believe people feel hate towards actions that can range in emotions from disappointment to rage.

No, I don't hate anyone because it's not worth it. Hate takes effort and energy, and I have better uses for my effort and energy. Like Lucy in Peanuts said, "It's hard work being crabby."
I may get irritated, pissed off, ticked, aggravated, angry or annoyed, but all those things pass. Hatred comes when you carry a grudge and let it fester and don't work things out. Work things out, and then LET IT GO. Life is too short to hate anyone for any reason.
Remember, the opposite of love is not hate. The true opposite of love is INDIFFERENCE. Both hatred and love are strong feelings. Indifference is the absence of all feeling whatsoever.
Hope this helps. Cheers, K

I really hate this question, because it shines the light on my weak humanness. I am sure I do hate someone, though at this moment I cannot think of anyone in particular.

No, hate is a strong emotion which poisons the person possessing it. Forgiveness is the key even though someone may do us wrong at times.
