yes and no.
A paper printout of who you voted for, kind of like a receipt, would be great.
But actual paper ballots no. Technology moves forward. While the new touchscreen machines might have bugs in them, they are far more efficient than an old fashioned paper ballot.

Yes, optical paper ballots have worked where I am in California for quite some time. Punch cards have too many problems.

I like the idea of listing each candidate next to a 1/2' box. Fill the box next to your choice with a permanent marker. An optical scanner can count the votes, and there is no doubt in case of a manual recount.

Yes. Electronic voting machines bring fraud. Cuyahoga County in Ohio had many problems with them during the May Ohio Primary. Many machines had no paper trail. Cuyahoga County has the highest population in the state and this will bring problems.

Yes if you want to trust the result.
I would use electronic voting BUT with a printed receipt for each vote. I'd then validate the result by weighing the total votes for each candidate.
