My finace and I are about to start the marriage class you have to take to get married in the Catholic church (Pre-Cana) and we know that we are going to have to take a questionaire where they give me a sheet of questions and him the same sheet of questions and we have to answer them seperatly then compare our answers. Can anyone who has been through Pre-Cana fill me in on what to expect from these questions?

If I remember correctly, the questions are based on different aspects of a marriage ( i.e.finances, family, careers, religion) The questions are to get an idea of your individual beliefs about life/marriage and how or where there could possibly be conflict due to different beliefs. They then take both of your questionnaires and compare them and show you where you seem to think/agree the most and or where you may conflict on certain areas of beliefs. The priest of your congregation will then sit down with you guys to go over the results. Dont worry, it's nothing to be afraid of.
I think it's a tool used to show people whether of not their beliefs are similar or not. If the Husband believes the Wife MUST always work full time, and the wife would like to stay home and raise a family, well... that may be a point of conflict. That's just an example of what the I believe the point of the questionnaire is. We are celebrating our 12 yr. anniv. on Saturday, so I dont know if they've changed it at all since then.
Congratulations & God Bless you both on your new journey!

The questions are actually to later compare and work out any differences you and your fiance have. It is actually a very good program. Dont stress, just try to get something out of it. I did it 9 years ago and have come across soome of those issues along the way. Glad I had the class to be able to talk it out. Enjoy!

If you are going to get help or an advice isn't it better to not get advance knowledge you will be asked. Your sincerity is all what is required to evaluate what you need to know for the successful marriage.
