Hey guys I am going to a wedding October 7th and I have NO idea what to wear. Of course I want to wear a dress but it is an evening wedding and I have no idea what color dress to wear or what style. I am about 5'5 122lbs....long dresses look better then short ones on me. I don't want to wear a black dress but I don't want to wear a color that will stand out from the bride!!! Help!

I think a maroon/brown color would look really nice. perhaps a dark shade of red or green or maybe even a pastel kind of yellow. i have attended many weddings lately and have seen numerous amounts of us girls wearing these colors. they look beautiful on any girl. I would say go for the dark maroon colored dress..possibly with a beaded neck-line or a beaded design somewhere around there. to accentuate your look, wear dangling earings-possibly black beads if your hair isnt block or dark brown..and if it is..i would say go for red or gold beaded dangles. in addition to this, i think you should wear a VERY VERY simple necklace that has a touch of maroon in it..possibly with some gold. from all of this, i would say...wear some nice gold heels or maybe a pair of black or maroon ones. (this can be the same for all the dresses..just change the colors accoding to ur dress color)..i hope i helpeddd!!!

The rule of thumb for decades has been that a black dress should be every female guests' first choice, EXCEPT for the mother of the bride. A long dress is appropriate since it is an evening wedding, and in today's fashion environment, anything goes. Select a warm, dark autumn color, and you should be fine. Wear some comfortable dancin' shoes and have a great time.

Wear a deep red or purple dress. Maybe just below the knee. A dress that you might wear to an evening function should be suitable for a wedding. Long dress might make you look the same as the mother of the bride!

If the bride is upstaged at her own wedding, then that's her own fault. You shouldn't have the bride in mind while choosing your attire, unless you're thinking of wearing a long white dress and carrying a bouquet all night. I think you should go for a simple elegantly cut dress with bold accessories and your hair in lazy curls. I would go for a dress with some color, but in muted tones.

I think a nice olive green will really set it off cuz its not dark like you don't want it to be plus it mellow enough to where u won't stand out from the bride. If your hair is light i would suggest you accent it with gold...if you have darker hair accenting silver would be nice...make sure its a satin type fabric nothing too dull...preferablly a more gown like dress not the fairy princess look.

depending on ur skin tone the color and style will b hard to say. but if ur a brunette i would go for like a rusty organge brown shimmery dress that goes from orange to brown in the light. if ur blonde a warm brown would look good if u have red hair i would go with a deep green

You will find that looking for a fit you are happy with will be the deciding factor. Just not white or the color of the bridesmaids'..
Go crazy and try on many...Only you know what will make you feel beautiful...ps try color me beautiful (a book at the library)
It shows what works for your skin and features. Good luck, girl.

Look for a plum or dark purple colored dress. Those were big at the Emmy awards a few weeks ago (Evangeline Lily, Ellen Pompeo). Empire waists were also big.
