Going for the weekend and don't want to spend a billion dollars for good food or eat picked over buffets for every meal. Little help?

the buffet at the rio is VERY good, and i dont really like buffets. but anyway, paymons (maryland parkway and flamingo) is great medditerranian food, they also have a market and a hookah lounge.
mimi's cafe is good (but a chain) i dont know if there is one near the strip, the one i go to is WAYYYY northwest. the grand cafe at the santa fe is very good, not expensive. jack in the box is my personal, cheap, fast-food favorite. i dont think locals really go to the strip too often just to eat (i know i dont). zaba's is good, also way north west.
3 brothers pizza in henderson is the best pizza in the valley.
there are a TON of places to eat out here...

Most restaurants on the strip are expensive, even the coffee shops are costly. If you have a car and like Chinese food you might want to drive down the strip to Spring Mountain to Chinatown. It isn't too far. Most casinos also have food courts that you would find similar to a Mall however you know the quality of these places. They are OK for traveling for a quick fix but not so much for a sit down dinner. Local places are really away from the strip by 15 - 20 minutes or more which I don't think you would want to do which is why I am suggesting something a little closer in.

It depends on the local you ask. This local usually eats around my part of town. We have a few good chinese, itailian and mexican resturants. Buffetts are so gross but if you like to eat a lot and don't care what goes into your body then go for it. They are still reasonable priced but the quality is not really there.
There are lots of good burger joints, In N Out is the best and there is one right by the strip. Just look around you will find some stuff. Limit yourself to one buffett, don't want to spend your vacation in the bathroom if you know what I mean.

I think restaurants in casino/hotels have good breakfast deals. I would think they would also have good lunch and dinner prices. You can buy hot dogs or get them free in casinos. You might take some trail mix, or healthy granola bars w/ you.
