Your going to think this is off the wall but I use a natural remedy and here it is. Here is what you need. 1 medium onion, 1 clove of Garlic, 2. Lemons and Honey. 1. Take a medium sauce pan and fill it half way up with cold water. 2 Peel and slice the onion and put it in the sauce pan. 3. Take the clove of Garlic peel off the outer skin and slice it into small pieces and put it in the pan with The onion. 4. Wash and slice 1 lemon ( medium slices) and put it in the pan. 5. Put the pan on the stove and let it boil for about 5 min. Now get a coffee mug and pour some of the water which is now like tea, Take the other lemon and cut it in half and squeeze the juice into the cup and add 1 tbs of honey and drink it while it is still warm. Now after you drink this put on a sweat suite and a hooded sweat shirt,. Put the hood up on the sweatshirt ( make sure you can tie it) Put about 4 or 5 Heavy blankets on your bed and cover up, keep doing this and drinking the tea until you feel better and you will. I do it and my cold or flu is gone in no time. It is ok to leave the rest of the tea with the onion and garlic on the stove on low, but you will need to add more lemon slices and water. And it is ok to eat them after your done with the tea, when you need to make a fresh batch.

Go to a health food store and get echinacea tincture (30ml). Take the suggested dosage every three hours until the bottle is gone (this means getting up every three hours in the night as well). This can knock a cold out of your system if you have caught it soon enough. It works by stimulating the body to make more T cells.

The usual yaddah yaddah applies for colds, drink plenty of fluids and get plenty of rest.

This is the best home remedy that works for me:
Squeeze 2 large lemons, and finely chop 1 large garlic and put it in the lemon juice. You can add honey to sweeten it a little. Drink it in the morning, mid day, and evening before going to bed. Do this until all symptoms are gone. I guarantee you that it won't be no longer than 3 days.
Hope you feel better.

I like Zicam(the oral spray). It will help to shorten the duration of your cold.
Take some ibuprofen for the aches and pains, (because an anti-inflamitory is better than Tylenol for this)
Lots of fluids and a MULTI-vitamin might also help.
Good luck!

Echinacea and Vitamin C, sure - but see if you can't also get your hands on a bottle of Eucalyptus oil. Either spread it on your chest, or spray it into a washcloth and breath it in. It clears up your sinuses and does a number of other wonderful things!
