Mariah Carey, she can hit the highest notes, and hold them the longest, plus her voice is angelic. She may not be your favorite (or mine either, for that matter!), but you have to admit that she is in the category that you are inquiring about!

Once upon a time that use to be Barbara Streisand. The next one before the drugs is Whitney Houston the early years. Celine Dion before she sound out to Viva Las Vegas.
The number one person is Andrea Boccelli he has such an amazingly crisp and strong voice and the notes are definitely pure.

The purest voice? I'd have to go with Charlotte Church, her voice is perfect. Especially on her "Voice of an Angel" CD.

I would say, Sara McLachlin has the purest voice. Enya would be a close second.

I tend towards the clasical/ opera types- Sarah Brightman and Andrea Bocceli. But my favorite pure beauty voice is Christy Watt-Petersen. Extensive opera and musical theater background and cantor at my church. She's amazing.
