First of all if you are going to base your self esteem on comparing yourself to others, you will always feel bad about you.

YOU are the one that has to put a stop to that. Other people can't and drugs can't.

One thing I like to do if I am feeling crappy is to put affirmations on sticky notes and tape them to the bathroom mirror. Things like you are smart, you are beautiful, you are loved. Somehow, reading that everyday and making a concerted effort to believe them helps.

Another thing you might want to try is to do something that you just don't think you could do. Ah like climb a mountain, white water rafting, etc. Take someone with you who WILL NOT let you quit. They make you do it, even if you cry. Once you accomplish the task, the lightbulb will go on and you will go, look at that I did it, I mustn't be all that bad.

For me it was when I went thru boot camp. They pushed and pushed and pushed and proved to me that I can do and be whatever I want, as long as I am willing to put in the work.

And guess what, so can you!

This I know a lot about! I am plagued with self doubt. It's gotten a lot better over the years. What I've learned to do is challenge myself. There have been moments in my live when I've gone out on limb -- done something that I'd never imagined doing. I competed in a talent contest 2 consecutive years. The first year was to see if I would go through with it. The second year was to see if I would win. I won!

You'll never know how strong you are until you test your metal! You have strengths waiting to reveal themselves to you.

It's an inside job. Are you comparing your insides to others out sides. More people are "hurting" than you realize. Find someone to talk to who knows your good person. Recognise your good qualitied. Become "humble". Get with a group like Sunday school.
Praise your enemys and laud your friends! Forgive those you
have resentments against.

don't let the sum of your yesterdays make the total of your today's...in other words look to the future with hope and know that anything could happen. and know that everybody feels the same thing you do.
