You and your husband can be Chefs and have your kids be ingrediants (gives a whole do idea to so cute i can eat you). You can also do a role trading thing. Like have your husband be the youngest in the family (because husbands can be just like kids) have one of the oldest boys be a mom and the girl a dad. Something like that.

I am sure that you are aware that Pirates are very big this year. Another idea would be to go as the Goth family, with everyone dressing in Gothic attire. You could also go as X-Men...there are so many good ones that each of you could pick a really cool one. My final idea would be for each of you to pick a faux celebrity like Paris Hilton or Steve-O...
